Dominic leads the Family Law team at Malley & Co. He specialises in relationship property matters and complex disputes about the care of children. With over 20 years of experience, Dominic has the ability to balance the sensitive nature of his work with the drive to deliver fair and practical resolutions to his clients. He adopts a constructive, non-adversarial approach to matters but, when required, is a very experienced court lawyer. He appears frequently in the Family Court and at times in the High Court.
Dominic is a senior Court appointed Lawyer for Child with over 10 years of experience in that role. He receives appointments from the Family Court to act as Counsel to Assist the court and from the Ministry of Justice to act in Hague Convention matters.
Dominic also maintains a busy general practice and provides advice to his clients in the areas of general Commercial Law, Property Law and Asset Planning.
Dominic has acted as the New Zealand Law Society’s Family Law Section Regional Representative for the Christchurch area. He is a past Convenor of the Canterbury District Law Society Family Law Committee. He is a member of the Family Courts Association of Christchurch. He is a Deputy Convenor of a New Zealand Law Society Standards Committee that investigates and determines complaints against lawyers by members of the public.
